Sheriff And Two Others Indicted

A Van Zandt County grand jury returned a criminal indictment for the Van Zandt County sheriff and two others in his office. They indicted Sheriff Steve Hendrix, Chief Deputy Jerry Wood, and Blake Snell last Friday. Van Zandt’s District Attorney Tonda Curry says she received written evidence of excessive use of force against an inmate last November. They charged the three a Class B misdemeanor false statement to a peace officer.
