An East Texas deputy sheriff dispatched to a family disturbance was attacked by a pit bull. Smith County authorities say the caller told responding officers that her boyfriend and another man were trying to break in to her house to kill her. When one of the deputies went to the rear of the home, one of two dogs bit him on the arm and caused serious lacerations. The dog attempted to continue the attack but was shot and found deceased about 25 yards away. The deputy was treated at ETMC for a large laceration and released.
