Texas Rangers outfielder ShinSoo Choo is donating $1,000 to each minor league player in the organization, the team announced Wednesday. Choo’s donation is expected to provide support to about 200 players who were impacted by the MLB temporary shutdown due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The Dallas Cowboys have signed former Pro Bowl linebacker Aldon Smith to a one-year deal, according to Jay Glazer of Fox Sports. It is contingent upon Smith’s reinstatement, a process that is underway. It marks the end of a four-year absence for Smith, who was last with the Oakland Raiders. The deal is a $2 million base value and $2 million in sack incentives over that one year.

According to Golf Digest, they canceled the 2020 Open Championship scheduled for Royal St. George’s in July because of the coronavirus pandemic. The decision comes in the wake of the Wimbledon tennis tournament canceled earlier Wednesday. The group that organizes The Open, scuttled The Open for the first time since World War II. Scheduled for July 16-19 in Sandwich, England, the tournament won’t happen rather than postponing it because the R&A can collect an insurance premium if it cancels by a specific date, according to Golf Digest. The Masters, scheduled for next week, and the PGA Championship, scheduled for next month, have announced postponements, but no future dates.
