Winners of the North Lamar Skip, Jump and Run Children’s Fundraiser were announced at Higgins Elementary, Everett Elementary, Parker Elementary, and Bailey Intermediate. Prizes were awarded to the first, second and third place winners from each campus.

The annual event, sponsored by the elementary Physical Education Department at each campus, benefits the North Lamar Children’s Fund that helps students throughout the year with needs such as shoes, clothes, medications, eye exams, glasses, and other personal needs.  The fund also helps NL angels and their families at Christmas with gifts and food for the holidays. Students at the four elementary campuses have raised $23,683 by seeking sponsors for the Skip, Jump and Run event.

“This is the only fundraiser we have for the Children’s Fund, and the donations we receive throughout the year are minimal so this fundraiser is crucial to continue the Angel Tree and providing for needy children,” said NLISD Nurse Jennifer Elrod, R.N.

North Lamar’s Annual Skip, Jump and Run Activities Days follow the fundraiser.  Each campus will hold their own event and invite parents and grandparents to join the activities.  Watch for teacher newsletters or log on to North Lamar’s website atwww.northlamar.net.
