Slaton Votes Against Phelan For Speaker

When the Republicans in the Texas Legislature elected Dade Phelan to his second term as Speaker of the House, the vote was 145–3. One of the votes against Phelan was by Bryan Slaton, who represents Hopkins, Hunt, and Van Zandt counties. Local representatives in our listening area who voted for Phelan were Gary Van Deaver of New Boston and Cole Hefner of Mount Pleasant.
