Smith County Official Placed On Leave

The Assistant Smith County Fire Marshal has been placed on administrative leave with pay after he was caught  driving a county vehicle with an open container of alcohol. Oren Hale  was not arrested because State Troopers determined he was not intoxicated after conducting field sobriety tests.  He was, however,  given a ticket for failure to maintain a single lane of traffic.
