Some Still Without Power Nearly a Month After Hurricane Beryl

TSN Hurricane Beryl slammed into the Texas coast almost a month ago, but 1700 people are still without power. Governor Greg Abbott says he spent two and a half hours talking with Centerpoint Energy’s leadership and says the last plan they provided was inadequate. HE said Centerpoint needs to do more to clear trees and replace power poles and get it done faster. Centerpoint has published a new outage map and says it’s speeding up the adoption of the latest construction standards to harden their distribution system and speed up restoration. They also say they’re doubling the size of their tree and brush removal crews.
