SPCA And Hopkins County Deputies Seizing Large Herd Of Cattle

A local man is in custody after the SPCA of Texas and Hopkins County Deputies executed a warrant began seizing a large heard of cattle, estimated at more than a hundred, from a location near Hwy 11 West between Sulphur Springs and Commerce. The animals were said to be malnourished and in terrible physical shape. Deputies say several of the cattle were found dead at one location. Investigators say there’s so much land to search and so many of the animals were in such bad shape, it could take days for them to finish searching the property. The suspect’s name has not been publicly disclosed by deputies.
