UPDATE Speed Limit Changes On Hwy 19

At its monthly meeting Thursday, the Texas Transportation Commission approved speed limit reductions for portions of Hwy 19.  The speed limit will go from 70 to 65 from Loop 301 in Sulphur Springs to the Delta County line. Additionally, the limit will also go from 65 to 55 in the Birthright Community. Rumble bars will be installed at intersections with FM 1536, FM 1537, and FM 71 in Hopkins County. The changes go into effect on July 2. Plans also call for future improvements to Hwy 19.
