Sports Update For Thursday

Last night the Paris Wildcats traveled to Dallas to take on Roosevelt and walked away with a 71-36 victory.

Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay has refused to name a quarterback for Saturday’s playoff game against the Seattle Seahawks, but Jared Goff is progressing in the right direction to make his return. Goff was throwing at practice Wednesday, nine days after surgery on Dec 28 on his right thumb.

Clemson quarterback and likely No. 1 overall pick Trevor Lawrence announced Wednesday he would enter the 2021 NFL Draft. The Jacksonville Jaguars are in a position to select Lawrence after landing the first overall pick. Lawrence will depart the college ranks as one of the most heralded quarterback prospects in recent memory.

Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks take on Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets in Western Conference action. Both teams are 3-4 on the young season. Despite practicing, Kristaps Porzingas will not play against Denver.

The Dallas Stars had their first scrimmage on Wednesday in Frisco. Jamie Benn scored a pair of goals. The Stars have today off before returning to the ice on Friday, and Dallas opens the season next Thursday in Miami against the Florida Panthers.
