State Capitol Shut Down Over Protests In House Chamber

The Texas Capitol was shut down Tuesday, after a transgender rights protest. The disruption forced State Troopers to remove hundreds of people from the House Gallery. The House had just begun debate on a bill that bans medical gender modification procedures on children when a crowd of transgender rights protestors began chanting against the bill. They eventually removed the protestors from the State Capitol. They postponed a scheduled vote on the measure.
