Meet the DJ: Luke Wyldmon

Meet the DJ: Luke "The Wyld-Man" Wyldmon

luke wyldmon

Born on the Fourth of July, a veteran and a 5th generation native of Sulphur Springs, Tx, Luke’s roots run deep.

His grandfather Rex had a profound impact on his future, introducing young Luke to a variety of musical influences, live performances, and community events.

Playing the saxophone in both Junior High and High school, Luke began to nurture his musical appetite. Shortly after graduation he joined the Air Force as a Crew Chief at McGuire AFB, NJ . With so much time away from home and family, and a serious lack of country radio, Luke would eventually teach himself to play the guitar and sing.   Unknowingly carving out the makings a second career.

After 6 years and an honorable discharge, Luke would return home to Texas and begin his path towards radio. First trying his hat as a singer/songwriter. In short time, he developed a fun and exciting presence on the stage & microphone. Local pubs, private parties, and restaurant performances would soon turn into larger venues and corporate events.

With his natural ability to strike up conversation, Luke found himself operating as the Morning show host in Greenville, Tx for KIKT. Working with various members of the Chamber, Sheriff’s office, PD, Rotary, CASA and a vast number of community events. Proudly, Luke developed a shining reputation in Greenville and surrounding areas.

Over the years working in Hunt County, he dreamt of building the same relationship with the community back home in Sulphur Springs.

Known for his positive approach, engaging conversation and boundless energy – Luke is a fan favorite among locals and one of East Texas Broadcasting’s rising stars.  He is passionate about radio and music – but you may be surprised to learn there’s even more about Luke “The Wyldman” and his tenacious approach to life. Luke, a single father, and his 3 children are active competitors in the sport of “Brazilian Jiu Jitsu”.  You may see him at the local gym, the track, at the school or at your business.

With his infectious smile, Luke “The Wyldman” is EVERYWHERE! Keeping up with him in the community may prove difficult, but weekday mornings 6-10am you can find him on KSCH Star Country 95.9.
