The Frank Stone Middle School choirs competed at the 2017 UIL Concert and Sight-Reading Concert on Monday, April 10th.
“This is considered our most important contest of the year which would be equivalent to a STAAR test for a choir,” said Stone Choir Director Raven Minter.
The students traveled to First Baptist Church of Pittsburg to perform before the panels of judges. There are two set of judges; three for concert and three for sight reading. The Honor Choir, Treble Choir and Tenor-Bass Choir all received the highest honors of Sweepstakes. Furthermore, each choir received a rating of “SUPERIOR” from each individual judge.
In addition to Minter as director for the choirs is Rebecca Hildreth. Accompanist is James Adams.
