Students Re-enact History

Aikin students re-enact history during colonial-themed fair

Aikin Elementary School students had the opportunity to teach their peers about American history recently. Third grade Socrates students, dressed in period clothing thanks to Regine Skaggs from Givens, hosted the 3rd annual Colonial Fair. Aikin students moved throughout the school to learn about Colonial America.

Students demonstrated elements of a colonial society. Benjamin Franklin taught students how to play chess while Betsy Ross worked on her quilting skills. Cloggers filled the room with excitement as they shared dancing techniques of long ago.
