Sulphur Springs ISD school board held a regular meeting in the Administration Building Board Room, Monday, October 19, 2020.
PUBLIC FORUM
No one requested to address the Board.
Josh Williams reported on current COVID-19 data in the district and Supt. Michael Lamb updated the Board on enrollment numbers.
ADMINISTRATIVE REPORTS
The Board presented Hopkins County Judge Robert Newsom, City of Sulphur Springs Mayor John Sellers, and City Manager Marc Maxwell certificates of appreciation in recognition of the County’s and City’s contribution of CARES Act funds towards the purchase of technology devices for the benefit of SSISD students.
Craig Toney reported the Educational Performance of Bilingual/ESL Program for the 2019-2020 school year.
The Board received a report on Red Ribbon Week activities. Red Ribbon Week will be observed in SSISD the week of October 26 – October 29.
Board members received copies of the following Head Start items for informational purposes:
- Director’s Report for August/September
- Policy Council Minutes for September
- Financial Report for September
- COVID Financial Report for September
Board members received the required Head Start governmental body training via a PowerPoint presentation sent under separate cover.

Robbin Vaughn, a school board representative to the Head Start Policy Council for 2020-2021.
