A regular meeting of the Sulphur Springs ISD school board was held on Monday, August 8, 2016.
No one requested to address the Board during the Public Forum portion of the meeting.
ADMINISTRATIVE REPORTS
Information was presented re: Food Services purchasing for 2016-2017 school year.
Kristin Monk reported on Meet the Teacher activities.
Elementary, Middle School, High School handbook changes for 2016-17 were presented.
Josh Williams presented the updated SSISD Employee Handbook.
Rusty Harden gave a presentation on the BlackBoard call-out system.
ACTION ITEMS
Along with routine matters, the following were approved:
Student Code of Conduct for 2016-2017.
Teacher appraisers and appraisal calendar for 2016-2017.
General classroom materials/office supplies contracts extended for one year to Latson’s and Quill.
General Fund, Debt Service and Food Service budgets for fiscal year ending August 31, 2017.
Ordinance 2-16 levying an annual ad valorem tax for 2016 of $1.35048 per $100 cash valuation, which includes $1.04000 for local maintenance fund and $0.31048 for debt service, bond indebtedness, interest and sinking fund.
