A regular meeting of the Sulphur Springs ISD school board was held on Monday, February 8, 2021, in the Board Room of the Administration Building.
PUBLIC FORUM
Timothy Perkins addressed the Board about his concerns re: iPad use by young children.
A public hearing was conducted for the 2019-2020 Texas Academic Performance Report.
A public hearing was conducted re: Hazel Health telemedicine services for SSISD students.
ADMINISTRATIVE REPORTS
SSISD Police Chief Glynda Chester presented a required report on racial profiling. The SSISD police department does not make traffic stops a priority, so files an exemption for the report.
CTE Officers from student organizations BPA, FCCLA, FFA, HOSA, and Skills USA made presentations to the Board re: their activities and achievements this year.
Josh Williams presented TASB Localized Policy Manual Update 116. The update will be presented for approval of local policies at the March board meeting.
