Suspect Arrested After Sulphur Springs Police Chase

Sulphur Springs Police were involved in a vehicle pursuit Friday morning. The chase ended when the suspect crashed on Pipeline Road between North Jackson Street and East Loop 301. The suspect fled on foot, and multiple agencies participated in the search. The suspect was taken into custody later Friday afternoon. He’s been identified as Mark Houston Burkeen, Jr. He’s been charged with Evading Arrest or Detention With A Vehicle and is under a $100,000 bond in the Hopkins County Jail.
