Dabrett Black is the Lindale suspect in the fatal shooting of a Texas state trooper on Thanksgiving Day. Black had previously beaten an East Texas deputy and tried to take his gun. A court had dismissed or reduced those charges to a misdemeanor in a plea deal. The Smith County Deputy suffered black eyes, a broken nose, and lacerations.
