Suspect, Officer Shot After Upshur County Chase

Upshur County Deputies responded at about 1:40 Monday morning to a report of multiple shots fired at a CEFCO convenience store on US 271 and Hwy 300. Officers spotted the vehicle, a pursuit ensued, and the suspect shot at the officers during the chase. Multiple agencies responded to assist. The suspect then drove toward a police staging area, shooting at them, and officers returned fire, striking the suspect. They hospitalized the unnamed suspect in an unknown condition. The suspect shot a deputy, but healthcare treated and released him.
