Department of Public Safety

The Texas Department of Public Safety Officers Association says the man wanted for allegedly shooting a State Trooper Friday night near Mexia killed himself Saturday evening. Limestone County Judge Richard Duncan confirmed that 36-year-old DeArthur Pinson, Jr., was located at home near Mexia, where he later shot himself. Trooper Chad Walker remains in a Waco hospital in stable but critical condition after being shot in the head and stomach. Trooper Walker and his wife have a 15-year-old son, twin seven-year-old daughters, and a two-month-old daughter.
