Suspending Gas Tax Won’t Help Pump Prices Much

There is growing talk of suspending the federal gas tax to help families deal with a price at the pump that hovers around $4 a gallon. Texas Democratic Congressman Henry Cuellar says that would be fine, but he doubts it would do much. Instead, he says to bring down the price at the pump; the nation must look at long-term changes. That includes ramping up domestic production. In addition to more jobs, he says that the fuels we produce are cleaner than the products we get from other countries.
