TAMU-Commerce Library, Lake To Be Renamed

The library at Texas A&M -Commerce will be renamed in honor of its first African American student, Velma Waters. The small lake on the west side of campus will be renamed Charles S. Garvin Lake, after its first African American graduate. Previously they were named in honor of the school’s fifth president, James Gilliam Gee.
