Lion men finish 10th nationally, Roberts’ All-American effort in triple jump puts Lion women in points for the first time in six years – FINAL MEN’S RESULTS – FINAL WOMEN’S RESULTS

BRADENTON, Fla. – The Texas A&M University-Commerce men’s track & field team finished in 10th place in the team standings at the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships on Saturday, while the Lion women positioned in the meet for the first time since 2011, thanks to an All-American effort.

Jasmine Roberts set a school record in the women’s triple jump with a leap of 12.61 meters (41′ 4 ½”) on her fifth attempt to earn sixth place in the event and three team points for the Lions. She had qualified for the event finals by tying the previous school record of 12.55 meters on her first attempt.

That places A&M-Commerce in 56th place in the team standings – the first time the Lion women have been on the national podium since 2011.

The men’s 4×100 meter relay team of Malcolm Woods, Reggie Kincade, Isaiah McFail, and Devon Sanders placed fourth with a time of 40.05 seconds. The relay was the sixth men’s event to earn the first team All-America honors at this meet.

The Lion men finished in a tie for 10th place in the team standings with 24 points. This effort is the fifth time in 24 appearances at the NCAA Division II National Championships that A&M-Commerce has eclipsed 20 points and the fifth time the Lions have finish in the nation’s top 10.

Also competing on Saturday was Alexandra VanSickle in the women’s shot put. She finished 14th with a long toss of 14.19 meters (46′ 6 ¾”).
