TAMUT – Weather News

A&M-Texarkana Announces Campus Closure Monday, February 15 and Online Instruction Tuesday-Friday Due to Forecast Winter Weather.

TEXARKANA, Texas – Texas A&M University-Texarkana will be closed Monday, February 15, due to the forecast winter weather expected to impact the region Sunday and Monday. We canceled all classes for Monday, and the campus will be closed. Foodservice will continue for students living in the residence halls, and university police will continue to provide standard operating security for the university.

All classes will shift to remote/online learning from Tuesday through Friday.

The university will announce a decision about campus closure for the remainder of the week on Monday after evaluating the conditions and additional forecasts. Forecast expect this winter storm to bring frigid temperatures to the area along with significant wintry precipitation that could make travel treacherous for several days. Power and internet outages are also a possibility.

Students, faculty, and staff are encouraged to check their university email for updated information on campus closure and remote work instruction throughout the week.

Updated closure information will also be available on university social media platforms and by visiting www.tamut.edu/alerts.
