A lightning strike is believed to have caused an explosion and fire in Wood County Saturday afternoon. Firefighters responded shortly before 2:00 to the tank fire at the Energy Production Corporation on FM 778 in Mineola and said the fire was contained within 30 to 40 minutes. The tanks spilled only a small amount of oil that was quickly contained. There were no injuries.
