TEA Will Have Independent Audits Of School Security

The Texas Education Agency is moving ahead with unscheduled audits of school campuses across the state. Texas is bringing in a third party to conduct random security audits of public schools. Education Commissioner Mike Morath says there has been a lot of activity this year to get schools as prepared as possible. By bringing in a third party, Morath says every school district will have its basic safety procedures checked on an unannounced basis over the year.
