Teacher Association Wants Delay For Shooter Drills

It’s back to school time for Texas teachers, who are getting their classrooms ready for the kids. This year, the Uvalde school shooting is looming large. Karen Hames heads the Association of Texas Professional Educators. She says, in the vast majority of cases, teachers feel safe in their classrooms. They’re asking districts to put off those active shooter drills until later in the school year, so kids can get comfortable.
