‘Texas 7’ Inmate Executed for Irving Officer’s Killing

The U.S. Supreme Court refused to halt the scheduled execution of a Texas prison escapee arrested for killing an Irving Police Officer during a robbery. Joseph Garcia, one of the notorious “Texas 7” gang of inmates, who broke out of a South Texas prison in December 2000, was put to death in Huntsville Tuesday evening.
