Texas Constitutional Amendment Props Pass

Two amendments to the Texas Constitution related to property taxes passed by substantial margins on Saturday. The first proposition will lower school district property taxes for homeowners over the age of 65 and those who are disabled. The second proposition will raise the homestead exemption on school district property taxes from $25,000 to $40,000.
