Texas Inmate Loses Supreme Court Death Row Appeal

A death row inmate condemned more than 20 years ago for dragging a man behind a pickup in Jasper to his death is one step closer to execution. The U.S. Supreme Court, without comment, denied the appeal by 43-year-old John William King. His co-defendant, Lawrence Russell Brewer of Sulphur Springs, was executed for the crime, and another is serving life in prison.
