Texas Jobless Rate Downturn

The unemployment rate in Texas last month fell to 8.6-percent. While that is an improvement from April’s record-high 13.5-percent, economists think it’ll tick back up this month. Economist Ray Perryman says the state added more than 225-thousand jobs in June. Nearly three million Texans have filed for unemployment benefits since mid-March.
