Texas Lawmaker Says Stimulus Checks Not Enough

It’s been six months since the federal government shot out the first round of Coronavirus stimulus checks, and many people are eager for another. President Donald Trump said on Twitter this week that he is ready to sign a stand-alone bill for a second round, and urged Congress to get it to his desk. Congressman Joaquin Castro of Texas says that’s not enough. There needs to be more help. He says Democrats in Congress have pushed forward several different relief packages that included aid for the airlines and an expansion of the Paycheck Protection Program, which helped small businesses. Doing this piecemeal, he says, is not enough.
