Texas has surpassed California in recording the highest number of positive coronavirus tests in the U.S. so far. Florida came in third. A number equivalent to 3.2% of the Texas population has tested positive for COVID-19. After conducting more than 8.3 million tests, more than 900,000 have come back positive. Nearly 18,200 have resulted in deaths, a 2% mortality rate.
