Texas Power Grid Holding Up To High Heat

This heat wave is leading to record-breaking power usage in Texas. But unlike last week, there have not been any calls for conservation, and the embattled power grid is holding up. Thomas Overbye at the Smart Grid Center warns what we’re seeing now is different from winter storm Uri, when the grid crashed, leaving millions without power. Most of the changes, ordered by the state legislature, were aimed at keeping the electricity flowing during the cold months.
