Texas Privacy Bill Signed Into Law

State Senator Robert Nichols of Jacksonville authored a bill signed into law, and soon Texans should see fewer robocalls as a result. In addition, the measure will limit state agencies’ abilities to sell personal information to third parties. For example, the Department of Public Safety and Motor Vehicles was able to sell personal information. It included the registration, title, and operator’s or driver’s licenses containing a person’s photograph, name, address, phone number, date of birth, email address, and vehicle identification number.
