Texas Reports Low Number Of Hunting Accidents

The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department announced that Texas hit a record low for hunting accidents last year. The 2023 Texas Hunting Accident Report reported a record low of only ten non-fatal hunting accidents and one fatality. Texas’ highest-ever year was in 1972, when hunters killed 30 people in hunting-related accidents. Texas Parks And Wildlife says the continued decline in hunting-related accidents and fatalities is mainly due to the efforts of the TPWD Hunter Education Program and instructors across the state and many volunteers.
