Texas Education Commissioner Mike Morath told school superintendents and lawmakers to be prepared for long-term school district closures, potentially through the end of the school year. Morath said he would still leave the decision up to local superintendents.
School districts in Dallas and Richardson will close “indefinitely” as part of the effort to slow the spread of the new coronavirus. Teachers are prepared to begin distance instruction and the district has activated at-home learning.
