A Texas security expert says the Biden administration didn’t do enough to discourage Russia’s troop buildup along Ukraine’s border. Dr. William Inboden is the executive director of the Clements Center for National Security at the University of Texas. He says President Biden should have started imposing more severe sanctions on Putin and Russia months ago. Inboden says Biden only threatened sanctions after an imminent invasion. He also thinks Biden should have considered encouraging the deployment of some NATO forces inside Ukraine, not to start a war but because that’s the sort of thing it would take to deter Putin.
