According to a Houston Chronicle analysis of state data, Texas’s seven-day rolling average for new cases on Tuesday jumped for a seventh straight day to 5,369.7.
The average has climbed since hitting 4,088.7 on Oct. 13.
Tuesday, the statewide case total went from 860,229 to 865,898, an increase of 5,669 cases. Another 74 newly reported deaths bring that statewide total to 17,477. On Wednesday, there were 4,856 new cases.
The positive test rate is now at 8.36 percent. The rolling average of viral tests is now at 61,758.
