Texas Senate Approves Banning DEI Programs

The Texas Senate passed a bill prohibiting public universities from keeping or creating Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) programs or initiatives. The measure would also ban diversity statements on faculty applications and prohibit mandatory DEI training for university employees and students. The bill must pass the House and go to Governor Abbott’s desk for signature to become law.
