Texas Sets All-Time Record For Electricity Use

Extreme heat has caused the state’s biggest electrical grid to shatter its all-time record peak for electric power demand twice in one day. The Electric Reliability Council of Texas says demand peaked between 4:00 pm and 5:00 pm Thursday, breaking the previous hour’s record. Ercot and electricity providers say they are working diligently to ensure they have the power they need to keep everyone cool.
