Texas Spends $221 Million To Bus Immigrants Out Of State

A newly released report shows Texas has spent more than $221 million to bus illegal immigrants to six sanctuary cities across the country. Activists say that’s a gross misuse of taxpayer dollars. Aaron Reichlin-Melnick with the American Immigration Council says these bus trips cost just over $1,800 per person when you break it down. A regular bus ticket to New York costs about 200 bucks. Governor Abbott’s office has long defended the busing program, saying it took pressure off border cities and spread the burden to the rest of the nation.
