Texas Suing Federal Government

Texas is suing the federal government to keep “Title 42” in place along the border with Mexico. That’s the public health policy that allows immigration officials to quickly expel people apprehended crossing the border to limit the spread of COVID-19. The White House wants to end the program next month, but SMU Law Professor Eric Cedillo says the lawsuit by Texas could delay that action. Several other states filed a similar lawsuit over the Biden administration’s decision earlier this month.
