Texas Supreme Court – Democrat House Members Can Be Arrested

The Texas Supreme Court ruled Tuesday that the Texas House could arrest Democrats who fled Austin in early July to fight a GOP-backed elections bill to restore a quorum to the legislature’s lower chamber. The court ruled that the Texas House of Representatives has the “authority to compel” members to return to the floor physically.
