A member of the Texas Supreme Court is stepping down. Texas Supreme Court Justice Eva Guzman resigns after more than a decade on the state’s highest court. She has notified Governor Abbott that she will leave the bench on Friday. She was the state’s first Latina justice on the court after being appointed by former Governor Rick Perry in 2009. It will be up to Governor Abbott to appoint a replacement.
