Newly Weds Foods Inc. has partnered with Northeast Texas Community College (NTCC) to provide job training using a $170,267 Skills Development Fund grant from the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC). The grant will benefit workers in the Northeast Texas area.
This grant will be used to provide customized training to 119 new and incumbent workers for industry-related topics with focused instruction on laboratory techniques in food handling, programmable logic controls, industrial electricity and motor control systems. Trainees will include matching operators, cooking process operators, maintenance engineers, material handlers and product process supervisors. Upon completion of training, the workers will receive an average wage of $16.35.
TWC Executive Director Larry Temple will present a check to representatives from Newly Weds Foods Inc. and NTCC at a 3:00 pm ceremony at Newly Weds Foods, Inc. employee breakroom at 4125 FM 3417 in Mt Pleasant.
