DALLAS – October 22, 2023 – As the lights and sounds of the Midway begin to fade for the 2023 State Fair of Texas, the memories made during the Fair this year continue to resonate throughout Fair Park until we open our gates again next fall.
The 2023 State Fair of Texas welcomed more than 2.3 million people through the gates during its 24-day run.
As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, the Fair aims to support the community locally and statewide. The proceeds from the Fair improve Fair Park, underwrite community initiatives, support scholarship programs for students throughout Lone Star State pursuing higher education and Fair Park’s museums, and help improve State Fair operations. The annual State Fair of Texas serves as the organization’s largest fundraiser – a successful 24-day run for the Fair means more support for Fair Park and the surrounding community. In 2022, due to the success of the prior year’s Fair, the State Fair of Texas contributed nearly $18.5 million through philanthropic and Fair Park giving.
“Each year, the State Fair of Texas centers around community,” said State Fair of Texas President Mitchell Glieber. “Despite the challenges we faced this Fair, our team has been resilient and steadfastly brought the community together to celebrate at the Most Texan Place on Earth. After 137 years, nothing is more fulfilling than seeing folks from all walks of life embrace and uplift the time-honored tradition of the State Fair of Texas.”
