Radio. Music. They go hand-in-hand. Good thing we love both here on the Big Ol’ Morning Show!
Radio and music have been my two true loves since an early age. As a kid, I’d take a tape recorder and a CD player and record myself acting like a radio DJ or talk show host on “J-E-R-K Radio.” If I wasn’t pretending to be on the air waves, I was behind a drum set. My dad played drums for our church and some local gospel groups, so there was always a drum kit at our house. Naturally, I started to play drums around the age of 4 or 5. I always joke that I don’t remember life before drums…which is basically true! I knew early on in life that I would wind up doing one of two things: either work in radio or be performing on stage somewhere. Luckily, I’m blessed with the opportunity to do both having toured the southern region of the U.S. in a van with Texas country band Tyler and the Tribe for multiple years and now finding my place in the radio industry after graduating with a degree in Radio and Television from Texas A&M University-Commerce.
Alongside my friend Dave Kirkpatrick, we aim to make your morning commute to work one that feels like you’re hanging with some of your best friends in a carpool. Simply put, we’ll be “keepin’ it real” on Star 95.9 every weekday morning from 6 to 10. Come hang with us!
