Kiefer Sutherland recently apologized for creating the mullet craze in the 1980s. He tells the Dark Horizons website that Joel Schumacher, the director of his 1987 vampire movie ”The Lost Boys”, made him grow his hair long. “(Director) Joel Schumacher wanted me to have long hair, and I had long hair at the time and then he wanted it white, a timeless kind of thousand-year-old look. So I dyed it white and my hair was like normally long, like long everywhere. And I just looked like a wrestler! I hated it. And I just thought, ‘That’s awful.’ And Billy Idol had just come out… and he looked cool. I mean, he just looked badass. And so I thought, ‘Well, he’s got white hair. That could look really cool.’ But Joel wanted my hair long. And so I actually think I might’ve been responsible, or at least partially responsible, for creating the mullet. And for that, I’ll apologize to the death.”
People magazine and Celebitchy claim Lori Loughlin knows she may be facing a long prison sentence because of her college admissions scandal. A source tells the magazine the entire family is in chaos right now. They knew this was a possibility, but they all thought that perhaps it was just a bargaining tool from the prosecution. Now that the charges are official, they are realizing that there is no way to avoid a moderately long prison sentence unless they are found not guilty in a trial.”
Fixer-Upper star Chip Gaines wants more kids. His wife, Joanna, tells NBC, “When I’m 50, Chip’s gonna want more kids. Just know, this is gonna be the headline forever: Jo’s pregnant again. Chip with children is like a business — there’s never too many. I’m like, ‘Chip I think we’ve got enough, I think we’re good!’ He’s like, ‘I just think we can keep having them!’ I think Chip just loves a full plate.”
Nicole Kidman tells Allure magazine that her biggest beauty secret is reapplying SPF 100 + sunscreen every 90 minutes. “I used to be like, ‘All those creams, who cares?’ But definitely, as I’ve gotten older, I’ve realized those creams are necessary. I’m shooting outdoors a lot, so the most important thing is the sunscreen — I use Neutrogena SPF 100+. I reapply every 90 minutes, every single day.”
The NY Post says the makeup Joaquin Phoenix wears in ”Joker” only took 20 minutes to apply. His makeup artist, Nikki Leddermann, tells Dazed Beauty magazine, “It took an average of 15-20 minutes to apply the makeup, partly because it was hard for Joaquin to sit still but also because I didn’t want it to look too precisely thought out. When you film a movie, you don’t shoot in scene order. One day you film a scene that is being continued days or weeks later and you have to match it exactly frame to frame. Because everything was freehand, it took a lot of record-keeping and solid painting skills to match and progress it.”
